Baccio della Porta, plus connu sous le nom monastique de Fra Bartolomeo, est un peintre italien qui devint religieux Dominicain. Sa vie est intimement liée à Florence, et son œuvre, à la période de la Première Renaissance. Son style caractérise le début du cinquecento florentin, une culture qui hésite entre le classicisme de Raphaël et le premier Maniérisme. Le thème de ses œuvres est constant : la méditation religieuse.
