Sir George Hayter est un peintre et graveur britannique de renom, spécialiste de la peinture de portraits et de grands tableaux impliquant dans certains cas, plusieurs centaines de portraits individuels. La reine Victoria apprécie ses mérites et nomme Hayter son peintre principal en ordinaire et lui décerne aussi le titre de Chevalier en 1841.
